Google Data & Permissions
Last updated 30 July 2026
This page explains every Google permission Agenta asks for before you connect an account.
Permissions and their purpose
| Permission | Google scope | Why Agenta needs it |
|---|---|---|
| Basic account identity | openid, email, profile | Identify the Google account you chose and label it correctly inside Agenta. |
| Read Gmail | gmail.readonly | Show your mail and, when you ask Agenta to scan, identify requests, deadlines, and follow-ups. Agenta cannot delete, archive, label, or modify existing mail. |
| Send Gmail | gmail.send | Send only an email you wrote or reviewed and explicitly confirmed in Agenta. Sending is never automatic. Agenta does not currently create drafts in Gmail. |
| Read Google Calendar | calendar.readonly | Show your calendars and existing events beside tasks so you can plan around real tasks. |
| Create calendar events | calendar.events | Create an event only after you choose its calendar and confirm it. Agenta does not silently schedule tasks or alter unrelated events. |
What happens when AI is used
Agenta sends only the content needed for a feature to its AI service provider when you run that feature, for example message text during an inbox scan or the message, instruction, and saved context you choose to use when you request a draft. A scan may return a short relationship-context suggestion, but it does not influence future drafts unless you accept it. Google data is not used to train a general-purpose AI model, build advertising profiles, or serve ads. See the Privacy Policy for the current provider list and processing details.
What Agenta stores
Agenta stores encrypted connection credentials, extracted tasks and the bounded message context attached to them, message identifiers used to prevent duplicate processing, user-confirmed drafts, sorting decisions, editable person and workspace context, reviewable context suggestions with bounded supporting excerpts, and a bounded calendar cache. It does not copy your whole mailbox. Tasks and their attached context remain until you delete them or your account; credentials are removed when you disconnect the integration.
What Agenta does not do
- It does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising.
- It does not delete, archive, relabel, or edit existing Gmail messages.
- It does not send an email without your explicit confirmation.
- It does not silently create calendar events or change unrelated events.
- Agenta staff do not read your mail unless you specifically ask for support that requires it.
Disconnect, revoke, or delete
Remove an account from Integrations to delete its stored credentials from Agenta. You can also revoke the grant directly in your Google Account permissions. Deleting your Agenta account from Settings removes Agenta-owned account data under the retention terms in the Privacy Policy.
Google Limited Use
Agenta's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
